Join Us Climate4Pakistan in The Fight for Environment

Climate4Pakistan is a student-led organization founded by Zainab Waqar and her dedicated team, all passionate advocates for environmental change. The organization works to spread awareness about various environmental issues impacting Pakistan, the 5th most vulnerable country to climate change. With a strong focus on nature conservation and sustainable practices, Climate4Pakistan engages youth, farming communities and partners to drive meaningful change.

One of its flagship initiatives, Bridging Technology and Agriculture, addresses water scarcity in the agricultural sector, which uses 90% of Pakistan’s water—half of which is wasted due to mismanagement. By using smart soil moisture sensors, the project optimizes water usage and improves crop yields. These sensors are currently implemented on 220 hectares of the central Punjab farmland, and we aim to extend this technology to an additional 50 hectares in Southern Punjab, benefiting more small-scale farmers. The project’s impact and innovation earned it a spot as a finalist for The Stem Prize under Iris Prize 2024.

As young students, the team believe that youth-led activism and technological solutions can reshape the future of Pakistan’s environment for the better.
